The Silent Scream of the Dormitory

The night was as still as the grave, save for the occasional creak of the old wooden floors. The Monster U Dormitory, known for its quirky architecture and eerie history, was a place where whispers of the past seemed to linger in the air. The dormitory had been built in the 1920s, a time when the university was still a small college. It was said that the dormitory was cursed, a place where the dead would never rest.

Evelyn had just moved into her new room, a small, cluttered space on the second floor. She had heard the stories, but she was determined to make this her home. Her roommate, Alex, was a transfer student, quiet and reserved, with a look of perpetual worry etched into her face.

As the first week of classes began, Evelyn and Alex settled into their new routine. They shared meals, studied together, and occasionally ventured into the dormitory's common areas. Evelyn found herself drawn to the old, dusty library on the ground floor, a place that seemed to hold secrets of its own.

One evening, as they were returning to their room, they heard a faint, haunting sound. It was a silent scream, echoing through the halls. Evelyn's heart raced, but Alex seemed unfazed. "It's just the wind," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

But the scream returned, louder and more insistent. Evelyn's eyes widened in fear, and she grabbed Alex's arm. "We need to find out where it's coming from," she insisted.

The Silent Scream of the Dormitory

They followed the sound to the third floor, where the dormitory's most haunted room was said to be. The door was slightly ajar, and as they pushed it open, they were greeted by a sight that chilled them to the bone. A young woman, her eyes wide with terror, was pinned to the floor by an invisible force.

"Help me!" she cried, her voice barely audible over the din of the scream.

Evelyn and Alex rushed to her side, but as they reached out to help, the force that held her in place intensified. The room seemed to close in around them, the walls pressing in, the air thick with dread.

"Who are you?" Evelyn demanded, her voice trembling.

The woman's eyes met Evelyn's, and for a moment, Evelyn saw a reflection of her own fear. "I was a student here," she whispered. "I was trying to escape, but they caught me. They... they took me away."

Before Evelyn could respond, the force released the woman, and she stumbled to her feet. "Thank you," she said, her voice breaking. "I need to get out of here."

As the woman ran from the room, Evelyn and Alex followed, their hearts pounding in their chests. They found her outside the dormitory, her face pale and eyes wide with terror.

"Where are they?" Evelyn asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

The woman pointed to the dormitory's main entrance. "They're waiting for me there," she said, her voice breaking. "I need to get out of here, but I can't do it alone."

Evelyn and Alex exchanged a look of determination. "We'll help you," Evelyn said.

Together, they made their way to the entrance, the sound of the silent scream growing louder with each step. As they approached, they saw a group of shadowy figures gathered in the doorway. The leader, a tall, gaunt man with piercing eyes, stepped forward.

"Finally," he hissed. "You've come to join us."

Before he could say more, Evelyn and Alex launched themselves at him, their resolve to save the woman driving them forward. A fierce battle ensued, with the dormitory's residents caught in the crossfire.

The shadows fought back with relentless fury, but Evelyn and Alex were determined to protect the woman. In the end, it was Alex's quick thinking that turned the tide. She used a piece of equipment from the dormitory's maintenance shed to create a distraction, allowing Evelyn to confront the leader.

A brutal struggle followed, but Evelyn's determination and Alex's support gave her the strength she needed. With a final, desperate push, she sent the leader sprawling to the ground.

The shadows, seeing their leader defeated, scattered, leaving the dormitory in silence. Evelyn and the woman, now free, stumbled out of the dormitory, the silent scream fading into the distance.

As they stood outside, the weight of what they had just done settled over them. Evelyn turned to the woman, her eyes filled with gratitude. "Thank you," she said. "For everything."

The woman smiled weakly. "It's not over," she said. "But we've made a start."

Evelyn nodded, her heart heavy but filled with hope. "We will finish this," she said.

And with that, they turned and walked away from the dormitory, leaving behind the silent scream and the dark doings of the Monster U Dormitory.
